Bao Zheng in Beating the Imperial Robe. Bao Zheng was a high official of Northern Song. In this Peking opera he is represented as the prime minister. He wears an official hat of coloured silk and a black make-up with patches of white which, according to Peking opera tradition, symbolizes a man who is inflexibly just.
